I have recently become a vegetarian and eat practically all my meals in my college cafeteria. Does anybody have any good tips for eating veg on campus? tips besides "eat salads" or "just eat meat already" I am not vegan, just a vegetarian.
thanks
My daughter's college cafeteria had a vegetarian option every day as one of the main dish choices. You should approach the kitchen staff about it. Quite often, they'll be happy to give it a try...it breaks their own monotony. You might even see if there are other vegetarians on campus who would also like vegetarian choices.
eat vegetarianIn the meantime, you already know the current choices. When they serve pasta skip the meat sauce, there's always cereal and bagels, grilled cheese (unless you object to butter), vegetable dishes, etc.
Good luck!
I would talk to other people you know, maybe somebody else can help give you some meal ideas who is also a vegetarian. The campus cafeteria should offer vegetarian alternatives, so I would just ask. Sometimes they can make you stuff special, like a slice of pizza with no meat. Many people have special dietary needs, or can't eat certain foods due to allergies or religious reasons, eat vegetarianso I'm sure they have some alternatives.
If not, I would buy some frozen veggies and cook them, along with tofu, soy products or anything else that you might like.
Here's some websites, hopefully they help:
Oh I have the same problem! Some of the bigger universities have a vegetarian option on the menu. My cafeteria also has a sandwich bar, quesadilla line, and pasta bar which can all be made vegetarian. After eating in a college cafeteria for a year and a half, salads definitely get old!
most have a subway ...eat there have the veg choices
