I downloaded Thunderbird 1.5 and using my yahoo email as my email for the program...... I am able to receivie messages, but I cannot send them ! Does anyone know of a SMTP server for my yahoo mail to use in thunderbird ? what do I put for description ? username ? PLease help me on this part of my email .
I think youdownload thunderbird 1.5 need have Yahoo mail plus to use a seperate program like Thunderbird to send and recieve e-mail. If that is the case, the STMP server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com . Check that you have entered it correctly in "Outgoing Server" under Tools > Account Settings. Your username is your yahoo username, and you can download thunderbird 1.5put anything for description (home, work, yahoo, etc). If you have any other STMP servers, you may want to delete them. Check the box that says "Use name and Password" and enter your yahoo username in the username: box. Thunderbird will ask you for your password when you click "Get Mail".
